The Missionaries of Africa in South Africa
The present situation in South Africa has casuesd concern within the country and its neighbours. Here are three documents that explain a little more about what is happening.
There is a statement given by Archbishop Buti Tlhagale.O.M.I., the Catholic Archbishop of Johannesburg and President of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
There are two articles sent to us by our colleague Seán O’ Leary who is working with the Denis Hurley Peace Institute in Pretoria. These are in Word format and are entitles: South Africa in Crisis Through a Division of Power and South Africa: Burning the welcome mat.
Let us hope and pray that the situation will be resolved in the near future.
Merrivale
On Saturday 1st November 2008 we had the official opening of our centre here in Merrivale: a nice celebration with delegations of the different formation houses and the presence of the president of St. Joseph Theological Institute where our students will start to follow courses in February next year.
